Verizon Wireless PN-820 AKU3.4.2 Maintenance Release
This software update makes available some new features and corrects some issues. Some of the primary enhancements are:
- Upgraded OS to Windows Mobile 5.0 AKU 3.5.2.
- Added the 2007 Daylight Saving Time Patch.
- Upgraded Voice Command application to version 1.6.
- Enabled the Bluetooth Voice Command function.
- Improvements to Battery Standby and Talk Time.
- Set the default ring tone as “Verizon Ring.”
- Fixed several Bluetooth issues with Motorola and Jabra headsets.
- Added Power-Up and Power-Down tones.
- Enabled capabilities to set saved pictures as wallpaper on the sub LCD.
- Enabled capability to view music file played using media player on the sub-LCD, when the flip is closed.

Software Upgrade Utility Instructions
Welcome to the
PN 820 Software Upgrade Utility (select Model and Carrier, then select Maintenance Release on the right hand side). This program will take you through the installation of the software update. Before you continue, please ensure that the following items have been completed:
NOTE: Please sync the data on your device to your PC prior to initiating this upgrade. During the upgrade all third party applications and data will be lost. Once the upgrade is complete, you can sync with your PC transfer the data back on and reinstall the applications.
- This upgrade requires that ActiveSync 4.5 be installed on your computer. This may be a different version than the one with which the PN 820 shipped. The most current version of ActiveSync is available as a free download from Microsoft.
- Close all other applications on your device and PC.
- Download the Maintenance Release version: to your computer. Do not attempt to run it from its current location.
- Ensure that your device is charged at least 40%.
- Connect your device to your PC via the USB cable and ActiveSync.
- After you are connected using Activesync, double click on the software file. Follow the prompts of the installation wizard. There are 4 stages to the upgrade, which will take about 20 minutes to complete.



WARNING: Do not disrupt your device during upgrade. Disrupting during upgrade may damage your device. The total upgrade process takes approximately 20 minutes. Please leave the device untouched during the upgrade.


- Once the update is complete, the device will perform a normal reset and show the information below:

- Please confirm the software version:
- Under Start menu, select Settings.
- Then, choose More.
- Select Phone Information menu.
Congratulations! You have successfully upgraded your PN 820!
