How to Use Guide: Visual Voice Mail

Back to previous page
Visual Voice Mail is an enhanced voice mail application that allows subscribers to view and play incoming voice mail messages in any order on their wireless device.

Incoming voice mail messages display the caller’s number, the day, date, and time the message was received, and the message length. If the sender is in your contact list, the sender’s name (instead of the number) and the type of device that generated the incoming voice mail message will be displayed as well.

Getting Started
If you are a new Verizon Wireless customer (or have not set up your Verizon Wireless Voice Mail service) first you’ll have to activate the service and set up your Voice Mail password, greetings and mailbox. Instructions for setting up your Verizon Wireless Voice Mail service can be found in the Verizon Wireless Welcome Guide that came with your phone or search voice mail at Verizon Wireless.

Activating Visual Voice Mail
  1. Begin by downloading the Visual Voice Mail application. Activate Visual Voice Mail by selecting the Visual Voice Mail link or icon.
  2. After selecting the Visual Voice Mail link, a message will provide more information about the application.
  3. You will be asked to download the application and begin the subscription process.
  4. After you have downloaded the application, Visual Voice Mail will ask you to launch it.
  5. You will be prompted to enter your PIN. Visual Voice Mail uses the same password as your standard Voice Mail system.
  6. Once Visual Voice Mail has launched, it will ask you if you want to subscribe. Press Yes.
  7. You will be shown the service and subscription information. (Press More for additional information.)
  8. Choose Subscribe.
  9. You’ll be asked to accept the Terms and Conditions, select I Accept.
  10. Visual Voice Mail will instruct you to wait five minutes before re-launching the application.
  11. Press Close.
NOTES:
  • Although the Visual Voice Mail application is free, unless you subscribe to a plan or feature that includes unlimited airtime or data usage, you will be billed usage charges when you download or upgrade the application and when you use certain features. Additionally, you will be charged $2.99 per month, per line subscription fee.
  • Once you enter your PIN through Visual Voice Mail it is stored within the application and is only required when you change your password. This means that anyone in possession of your handset can access your voice mail messages that are stored on your handset.
Launching Visual Voice Mail
Launch Visual Voice Mail from the Messaging screen. The Inbox will be displayed.
