How to Use Guide: Bluetooth® Dial-Up Networking* with VZAccess Manager

*Allows a Bluetooth enabled device to be used as a data modem by another device, such as a laptop.

REQUIREMENTS
Before proceeding with the set-up instructions, first confirm that the basic requirements have been met.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bluetooth-enabled laptop (embedded or USB Adapter) with Mac OS 10.2.3 or higher.
    Note: All screenshots below are from the Mac OS 10.4.6

Make sure that the embedded or external Bluetooth adapter is fully set-up and enabled prior to installing VZAccess Manager.

NOTE: Verizon Wireless does not provide support for Bluetooth embedded or external adapters. Please refer to the manufacturer's manual that came with your Bluetooth-enabled laptop for Bluetooth troubleshooting assistance.

  • Bluetooth Dial-Up Networking (DUN) capable devices:

  • A subscription to BroadbandAccess Connect. Please visit Verizon Wireless for BroadbandAccess subscription information.

  • VZAccess Manager (version 3.0 or 3.1 depending on your device selected) downloaded and installed on the Bluetooth-enabled laptop. NOTE: To verify what version of VZAccess Manager you are running, open VZAccess Manager and select Help, then select About VZAccess Manager.

  • Supporting Drivers for your Bluetooth DUN-capable phone.
