Daylight Saving Time FAQs

Q:  After applying the DST patches to my device, appointments/meetings between the 3/9/2008 and 4/6/2008 are still off by one hour?

A:  Possible Resolutions:
  • If your device is on a corporate network (i.e. you receive corporate emails), please contact your IT administrator to ensure that all corporate email servers, email software (e.g. Outlook) have been updated with their appropriate Daylight Saving Time patch.
  • Please ensure that your desktop email software and operating system have been updated and then restart your computer. Visit Microsoft for additional information.
  • Adjust the meeting/appointment times manually or ask the meeting organizer to resend the meeting invitations. Adjust the meetings during March 9, 2008 to April 6, 2008 and October 26, 2008 to November 2, 2008 to reflect the appropriate time.
  • If you have performed a hard-reset on a Windows Mobile device (restores device to factory settings) the DST update will be erased from the device. The DST update will need to be applied again.
Q:  Does my device need DST update?

A:
Please see the Verizon Wireless table for more information about your device. Currently, only BlackBerry, Palm OS, and Windows Mobile devices need the DST update. For devices without an available patch or update, you may manually update your time zone information to display your calendar entries correctly. If you have questions about upgrading your device, please contact us at (800) 922-0204 or by dialing *611 from your mobile phone.
