Working with Child Zones ^®

A Child Zone allows you to be notified when a child cell phone arrives near or leaves the vicinity of a particular location. For example, you can create one Child Zone to notify you when Brad has arrived at school, and another for Kayla leaving soccer practice. You can view Child Zone messages in your Inbox.

Creating Child Zones

You can create a Child Zone from the Child Zones page. There are two ways to create a Child zone, either by entering the address of the location or by placing the location on the map directly.

Entering the Location:

1. From the home page click on Child Zones.
2. Enter the street address in the Street field.
3. Enter the city, state, and zip code followed by a comma in the field City, State, Zip.
4. Select Search.
5. Select the location that matches the address you want to use.
6. A window will pop up to verify the address, click on Continue.
7. Enter the name you want to assign the Child Zone in Name of Child Zone.
8. Select the child cell phone numbers/name (if a name has been assigned to the Child cell phone number) you want to assign to the zone by placing a check mark in the box next to the child phone number/name.
9. Select the radius of the Child Zone by choosing ¼ mile, ½ mile or 1 mile.
10. Determine when you want to be notified of Child Zone activity by selecting one of the choices in Select Type of Notification.
11. Determine how long you want the Child Zone to remain active by selecting one of the choices in Leave Child Zone Active.
12. Determine who should be notified of the Child Zone activity placing a check mark in the box next to the parent cell phone and/or click on the Add Other Recipients link to add up to a maximum of 3 cell phone numbers and/or email addresses and click on Save button, in the Send Notifications to.
13. To set the Child Zone by clicking on Save Child Zone.

Placing on Map:

1. From the home page click on Child Zones.
2. Click on Place on Map link.
3. Move the cursor to the location where you want to place the Child Zone and click.
4. A window will pop up to verify the address, click on Continue.
5. Enter the name you want to assign the Child Zone in Name of Child Zone.
6. Select the child cell phone numbers name (if a name has been assigned to the Child phone number) you want to assign to the zone by placing a check mark in the box next to the child phone number/name.
7. Select the radius of the Child Zone by clicking on ¼ mile, ½ mile or 1 mile.
8. Determine when you want to be notified of Child Zone activity by selecting one of the choices in Select Type of Notification.
9. Determine how long you want the Child Zone to remain active by selecting one of the choices in Leave Child Zone Active.
10. Determine who should be notified of the Child Zone activity placing a check mark in the box next to the parent cell phone and/or click on the Add Other Recipients link to add up to a maximum of 3 phone numbers and/or email addresses and click on Save button in the Send Notifications to.
11. To set the Child Zone by clicking on Save Child Zone. 

View Child Zones Details

You can view the details of a Child Zone, including:

• Location and boundary radius.
• Notification schedule.
• Recipient's phone number and/or e-mail address

To view Child Zone details, do one of the following:

• From the Child Zone page, click on the List Locations button. A list of all Child Zones will appear.
• From the Child Zone page, click on the number of the Child Zone you want to view details on. A window will pop up to show the details.
• From the Child Zone page, in the map move the cursor over the number of the Child Zone you want to view details on. A window will pop up to show the details.

Deleting a Child Zone

You can Delete a Child Zone from the from the Child Zones page.

To delete a Child Zone details, do one of the following:

• From the Child Zone page, click on the List Locations button. A list of all Child Zones will appear. Select the Delete link.
• From the Child Zone page, click on the number of the Child Zone you want to delete. A window will pop up click on the Delete link.
• From the Child Zone page, in the map move the cursor over the number of the Child Zone you want to delete. A window will pop up click on the Delete link.

Signing out of the Chaperone Website

• To sign out, click the Sign Out link at the top of the page.
