Locating Children
While your children are carrying their cell phones and have them powered on, Chaperone can help you determine their location. Location information is displayed as a nearby address and on a detailed map.
The location information obtained by Chaperone is approximate. In some instances, Chaperone may not be able to locate a child due to a phone or network issue, such as the following:
- Phone powered off or out of network coverage.
- An active voice call interfering with location determination.
- Network hardware or software problems.
You can locate your children from the Home page, which you access directly after signing in or from the
Locate tab.
To locate a child:
- From the Home page, click on the Locate button associated with the child cell phone of the child you want to locate.
- From the Home page, if you want to locate all of the children cell phones, select Locate All.
- From the Locate page, choose the Locate button associated with the child cell phone of the child you want to locate.
- From the Locate page, if you want to locate all of the children cell phones, choose Locate All.
Verifying Location Information
Once the child cell phone is located, your child's approximate location is shown on an interactive map display. Your child's location is represented as a transparent circle in the color associated with the child phone, and a smaller red dot when zoomed out. The actual location of a child's cell phone can be anywhere within or near the transparent area.
Location details are also displayed as a pop-up on the map. Details can include the nearest address, time they were located, speed, and direction in which they are headed. The location information in Chaperone is approximate, and may vary.
To see detailed information, place your cursor over the transparent circle. A pop-up window will appear, then click the
Details link.
