What is V CAST Videos?

With V CAST Videos enjoy your favorite full length TV shows, plus the latest in news, sports, weather, and live entertainment, on demand and right to your phone.

Verizon Wireless V CAST Videos is a high quality video content delivery service. With V CAST Videos, you can experience full motion videos to stay abreast of the latest news, sports scores & plays, weather, entertainment, and more, all from your phone. For customers who have the latest version of the V CAST Videos Client software (version 5.0) or V CAST Videos 4.0, there are 14 categories: Entertainment, Music, Sports there are  14 categories of video content to choose from: Entertainment, Kids, Music, Sports, Comedy, News, Pop Culture, Information, Women, Latino, Home & Leisure, Multicultural, Cutting Edge, Hollywood.  In addition, customers with V CAST Videos 5.0 have access to a user-populated Favorites category.

What are the requirements to launch V CAST Videos?
To launch V CAST Videos, you'll need:
  • A V CAST capable phone.
  • V CAST Coverage.
  • A V CAST subscription, a monthly or daily.
What features are included in a V CAST subscription?

V CAST Videos On Demand  on a Nationwide calling plans include the following:

  • Unlimited Basic Videos.
  • ESPN MVP –  included at no additional monthly subscription fee.
  • Unlimited Megabytes for V CAST Videos and ESPN MVP. 


The V CAST Videos On Demand subscription on a non-Nationwide calling plan includes the following:

  • Unlimited Basic Videos.
  • ESPN MVP – ESPN MVP application included at no additional monthly subscription fee; however, usage and download megabyte charges apply.
  • No charges for data received while accessing V CAST Videos.

NOTE: Application fees apply for Get It Now / Media Center Applications, 3-D Games and Premium Videos.

What are the features of the daily and monthly V CAST Videos subscriptions?
The daily and monthly V CAST Videos subscriptions include only basic videos. Premium music videos can ONLY be downloaded and saved to a handset. They cannot be streamed. Premium videos and data transport for other Get It Now® services such as Mobile Web and 3D gaming are not included.
Is V CAST available to prepaid subscribers?
V CAST Music devices and services are currently available to prepaid customers. Songs may be purchased via V CAST Music capable devices for $1.99 to $2.49 per song, or you may choose to purchase via the V CAST Music online store for 99¢ per song. An additional 99¢ service fee will be charged with the first song purchased from your phone in any 24 hour period. V CAST Videos service is not available to prepaid customers at this time.

What can I do from my V CAST Videos phone?
You can stream or download (save) videos from up to 14 categories, including Entertainment, Kids, Music, Sports, Comedy, News, Pop Culture, Information, Women, Latino, Home & Leisure, Multicultural, Cutting Edge, Hollywood.. You can sign up for and manage alerts* that will be sent whenever new videos matching a preference become available.

*Alerts are billed as incoming Text Messages.
How do I access V CAST Videos on my phone?
On your V CAST phone, select the Get It Now® menu and then the Picture Video (or Get Picture & Video) category. Select V CAST on Demand (or V CAST Videos) to launch the content catalog.
How do I select a video to review?
Use the center navigation keys to switch between the categories, highlight the desired category, then press OK. Once you are in the desired category, use the navigation keys to select a video. Then press OK to begin playing the video.
How do I return to the catalog in the middle of viewing a video?
To return to the catalog, press the CLR key. Once you have returned to the catalog, you may navigate to other categories to select additional videos.
What does "buffering" mean?
Buffering means that your device is downloading a video in advance to avoid delays in playback. Buffering ensures that you have a high-quality V CAST experience.
What do the navigation keys represent while watching a video?
  • Left and right navigation keys = rewind and fast-forward a video.
  • Upward navigation key = accesses full screen mode.
  • Downward navigation key = stops a video.
  • Center OK key = pauses/plays a video.
How do I mute a video?
The left soft key mutes a video.
What "Options" are available while watching a video?

The right soft key "Options" has four features:

  • Get V CAST Videos and Get Videos: ends a video and accesses the main catalog.
  • Video Info: provides a video's title, duration, size, height and width.
  • About.
  • Help.
Where can I use V CAST Videos?
To launch the application and watch new videos you must be in a V CAST Coverage Area.
Do I use voice minutes when I'm using the application or watching a video?
No. When you are using V CAST Videos you do not incur airtime charges for this type of usage.
Do I incur data charges when I'm using the application or watching a video?
No. When you are using V CAST Videos you do not incur data transport charges for this type of usage.
What content is available for V CAST Videos?
Several content providers are available within the categories and new providers are added each month. The videos are updated throughout the day so you should check back often to see the latest videos.
How do I save Videos?*
Once you have launched V CAST:
  1. Highlight the video that you would like to download.
  2. Select the right soft key Options.
  3. Select Save Video.
*NOTE: Some videos may not have the option to save.
Where do I access my saved Videos?
Saved videos can be accessed from the My Videos (or My Clips) option within the V CAST application. Saved videos can also be accessed outside of the V CAST application by following these steps:
  1. Access the Get It Now menu.
  2. Select Picture & Video (or Get Picture & Video).
  3. Select My Videos (or My Video).
How many Videos can I save?
This will vary based on the size of the videos and the other Get It Now® / Media Center applications that are stored on the handset.
What is the difference between downloading and streaming?
Streaming delivers a steady and continuous stream of data that allows the video to be viewed as the file is being transmitted. Streaming content is not saved locally on the device and requires a data connection and V CAST Coverage to be viewed.

Downloading requires the complete file to be transmitted and saved to the device before the video can be viewed. The file is stored locally on the device and can be accessed with or without V CAST Coverage.
Can I receive an inbound call while watching a video?
Yes. You will be prompted of an incoming call and will have the option to accept or ignore the call. If you take the call, the application will be suspended and will resume once the call has ended. If you ignore the call, the application will resume where it stopped prior to the call.
How do I upgrade a phone to V CAST Videos Client version 4.0 software?
To upgrade your handset to V CAST Videos Client version 4.0 software: (if eligible)
  1. From your handset, open the menu, go to Get It Now.
  2. Go to Get Picture & Video.
  3. Select Get New Picture.
  4. Go to Get New App.
  5. Select Entertainment.
  6. Select V CAST.
  7. Go to FREE Upgrade.
How do I upgrade to V CAST Videos Client version 5.0 software?
If V CAST Videos Version 5.0 is available on your device, you will be prompted to upgrade when launching V CAST Videos.
Can V CAST phones support cable connectivity?
At this time, Verizon Wireless does not support the use of cables with V CAST phones, unless the customer also subscribes separately to Mobile Broadband Connect and has a V CAST phone that is Mobile Broadband Connect capable. V CAST phones should only be used for approved Get It Now services such as Picture Messaging, Video Messaging, Videos, Mobile Web, Mobile Games and other services on the Verizon Wireless Get It Now website.
Are the V CAST Videos and V CAST Music services available to prepay customers?
Currently, only V CAST Music services are available to prepay customers.
Is V CAST available on an Alltel phone?
No, V CAST is only available on select Verizon Wireless phones. You may upgrade your phone at any time or learn more about other products available for your Alltel device.

What can I do from the website?
From the V CAST website you can learn more about the existing new clips that can be viewed from your phone and establish alerts that will be sent whenever new videos matching a preference become available.

NOTE: Alerts are billed as incoming Text Messages.
How do I register at the site?
  1. Select the Register link on the V CAST website.
  2. Enter your 10-digit mobile phone number.
    NOTE: Use ONLY numbers. Do not enter dashes, symbols, or spaces.
  3. Click Send. Your temporary password will immediately be sent to your mobile phone as a Text message.
  4. After you have received your temporary password, enter it into the Temporary Password box.
    NOTE: Passwords are case sensitive.
  5. Enter your desired new password into the New Password box. You will need this password each time you log back into the site.
  6. Re-enter your new password in the Re-enter Password box to confirm spelling.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Select a nickname that you can use instead of your phone number for logging in.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Answer the questions, which will help tailor the Get It Now site to you better. Only the first two questions are required.
  11. Click Save.
  12. Rate the Get It Now Links (Optional).
  13. Click Done.
How do I login?
  1. Once you have a password, simply enter your 10-digit mobile number (using ONLY numbers and NO dashes or spaces) and enter your password.
    NOTE: Passwords are case sensitive. You must type it exactly as you when you first registered.
  2. Click Login.
  3. You are now logged in to the site.
I have registered for vtext.com or PIX Place, do I need to register at V CAST?
No. Your 10-digit mobile number and vtext.com or Pix Place password can be used to login to the site.
How do I retrieve my password?
  1. Click the Log In - Forgot Password link on the left navigation menu from the V CAST homepage.
  2. Enter your 10-digit mobile number (using ONLY numbers and NO dashes or spaces).
  3. Click Send.
  4. Your password will be sent to your phone as a text message.
How do I set up Alerts?
  1. Log in to the V CAST website
  2. Select VIDEO
  3. Select BROWSE VIDEOS
  4. Select SET UP ALERTS
  5. Browse and select details from the alert of choice
  6. Select SAVE.
How can I see which alerts I have signed up for?
  1. Log in to the V CAST website
  2. Select BROWSE VIDEOS
  3. Select MY ALERTS.
How do I turn off or unsubscribe to the alerts?
  1. Log in to the V CAST website
  2. Select BROWSE VIDEOS
  3. Select MY ALERTS
  4. Select TURN OFF or UNSUBSCRIBE for the alert that you would like to change.
How do I turn alerts back on?
  1. Log in to the V CAST website
  2. Select BROWSE VIDEOS
  3. Select MY ALERTS
  4. Select TURN ON for the alert you would like to change.
How do I check my alerts if I cannot view them when they come in?
  1. From your phone, launch V CAST on Demand (Videos application)
  2. Select Options
  3. Go to Alerts
  4. Select Received Alerts to view them.
