  1. What is V CAST Video?
    Verizon Wireless V CAST Video is a high quality video content delivery service. With V CAST Video, you can experience full motion video clips to stay abreast of the latest news, sports scores & plays, weather, entertainment, and more, all from your phone. For customers who have the latest version of the V CAST Video Client software (version 4.0) there are twelve categories of video content to choose from: What's Hot, Music, Sports, Hollywood, News, Comedy, TV, Net’s Best, Lifestyle, Latino, Election '08, and Kids.

  2. What are the requirements to launch V CAST Video?
    To launch V CAST Video, you'll need:
    • A V CAST capable phone.
    • V CAST Coverage.
    • a V CAST VPak subscription, or a monthly or daily V CAST Video Clip subscription.

  3. What features are included in a V CAST VPak subscription?
    The V CAST VPak subscription on a nationwide calling plan includes the following:
    • ESPN MVP
    • Unlimited megabytes for Mobile Web, V CAST Videos, V CAST Music, and Get It Now Apps.
    The V CAST VPak subscription on a non-nationwide calling plan includes the following:
    • ESPN MVP
    • Monthly subscription to Mobile Web 2.0
    • Unlimited airtime usage for Mobile Web, V CAST Videos, V CAST Music, and Get It Now Apps.
    NOTE: Application fees apply for some Get It Now Applications, 3-D Games and Premium Video Clips.

  4. What are the features of the daily and monthly V CAST Video Clip subscriptions?
    The daily and monthly V CAST Video subscriptions only include unlimited basic video clips. Music videos can ONLY be downloaded and saved to a handset. They cannot be streamed. Premium video clips and data transport for Get It Now ®services such as Mobile Web and 3D gaming are not included.

  6. Is V CAST available to prepaid subscribers?
    V CAST Music devices and services are currently available to prepaid customers. Songs may be purchased via V CAST Music capable devices for $1.99 per song, or you may choose to purchase via the V CAST Music online store for 99¢ per song. An additional 99¢ service fee will be charged with the first song purchased from your phone in any 24 hour period. V CAST Video service is not available to prepaid customers at this time.

  7. What can I do from my V CAST Video phone?
    You can stream or download (save) video clips from up to 12 categories, including What's Hot, Music, Sports, Hollywood, News, Comedy, TV, Net’s Best, Lifestyle, Latino, Election '08, and Kids. You can sign up for and manage alerts* that will be sent whenever new clips matching a preference become available.

    *Alerts are billed as incoming TXT Messages.

  8. How do I access V CAST Video on my phone?
    On your V CAST phone, select the Get It Now® menu and then the Picture Video (or Get PIX & FLIX) category. Select V CAST on Demand (or V CAST Video) to launch the content catalog.

  9. How do I select a clip to review?
    Use the center navigation keys to switch between the categories, highlight the desired category, then press OK. Once you are in the desired category, use the navigation keys to select a video clip. Then press OK to begin playing the clip.

  10. How do I return to the catalog in the middle of viewing a clip?
    To return to the catalog, press the CLR key. Once you have returned to the catalog, you may navigate to other categories to select additional video clips.

  11. What does "buffering" mean?
    Buffering means that your device is downloading a video in advance to avoid delays in playback. Buffering ensures that you have a high-quality V CAST experience.

  12. What do the navigation keys represent while watching a video?
    • Left and right navigation keys = rewind and fast-forward a video clip.
    • Upward navigation key = accesses full screen mode.
    • Downward navigation key = stops a video clip.
    • Center OK key = pauses/plays a video clip.

    The left soft key mutes a video clip.

  14. What "Options" are available while watching a video?
    The right soft key "Options" has four features:
    • Get V CAST Video and Get Video Clips: ends a video clip and accesses the main catalog.
    • Video Info: provides a video's clips title, duration, size, height and width.

  15. Where can I use V CAST Video?
    To launch the application and watch new videos you must be in a V CAST Coverage Area.

  16. Do I use voice minutes when I'm using the application or watching a clip?
    No. When you are using V CAST Video you do not incur airtime charges for this type of usage.

    No. When you are using V CAST Video you do not incur data transport charges for this type of usage.

  18. What content is available for V CAST Video?
    Several content providers are available within the categories and new providers are added each month. The video clips are updated throughout the day so you should check back often to see the latest clips.

  19. How do I save Video Clips?*
    Once you have launched V CAST:
    1. Highlight the clip that you would like to download.
    2. Select the right soft key Options.
    3. Select Save Video.
    *NOTE: Some clips may not have the option to save.

  20. Where do I access my saved Video Clips?
    Saved video clips can be accessed from the My Videos (or My Clips) option within the V CAST application. Saved videos can also be accessed outside of the V CAST application by following these steps:
    1. Access the Get It Now menu.
    2. Select Picture & Video (or Get PIX & FLIX).
    3. Select My Videos (or My FLIX).

    This will vary based on the size of the clips and the other Get It Now® applications that are stored on the handset.

    No, not at this time.

  23. What is the difference between downloading and streaming?
    Streaming delivers a steady and continuous stream of data that allows the clip to be viewed as the file is being transmitted. Streaming content is not saved locally on the device and requires a data connection and V CAST Coverage to be viewed.

    Downloading requires the complete file to be transmitted and saved to the device before the clip can be viewed. The file is stored locally on the device and can be accessed with or without V CAST Coverage.

  24. Can I receive an inbound call while watching a video?
    Yes. You will be prompted of an incoming call and will have the option to accept or ignore the call. If you take the call, the application will be suspended and will resume once the call has ended. If you ignore the call, the application will resume where it stopped prior to the call.

  25. How do I upgrade a phone to V CAST Video Client version 4.0 software?
    To upgrade your handset to V CAST Video Client version 4.0 software: (if eligible)
    1. From your handset, open the menu, go to Get It Now.
    2. Go to Get PIX & FLIX.
    3. Select Get New PIX.
    4. Go to Get New App.
    5. Select Entertainment.
    6. Select V CAST.
    7. Go to FREE Upgrade.

  26. Can V CAST phones support cable connectivity?
    At this time, Verizon Wireless does not support the use of cables with V CAST phones, unless the customer also subscribes separately to BroadbandAccess Connect and has a V CAST phone that is BroadbandAccess Connect capable. V CAST phones should only be used for approved Get It Now services such as Picture Messaging, Video Messaging, Video Clips, Mobile Web, Mobile Games and other services on the Verizon Wireless Get It Now website.

  2. What can I do from the website?
    From the V CAST website you can learn more about the existing new clips that can be viewed from your phone and establish alerts that will be sent whenever new clips matching a preference become available.

  3. How do I register at the site?
    1. Select the Register link on the V CAST website.
    2. Enter your 10-digit mobile phone number.
      NOTE: Use ONLY numbers. Do not enter dashes, symbols, or spaces.
    3. Click Send. Your temporary password will immediately be sent to your mobile phone as a TXT message.
    4. After you have received your temporary password, enter it into the Temporary Password box.
      NOTE: Passwords are case sensitive.
    5. Enter your desired new password into the New Password box. You will need this password each time you log back into the site.
    6. Re-enter your new password in the Re-enter Password box to confirm spelling.
    7. Click Save.
    8. Select a nickname that you can use instead of your phone number for logging in.
    9. Click Save.
    10. Answer the questions, which will help tailor the Get It Now site to you better. Only the first two questions are required.
    11. Click Save.
    12. Rate the Get It Now Links (Optional).
    13. Click Done.

  4. How do I login?
    1. Once you have a password, simply enter your 10-digit mobile number (using ONLY numbers and NO dashes or spaces) and enter your password.
      NOTE: Passwords are case sensitive. You must type it exactly as you when you first registered.
    2. Click Login.
    3. You are now logged in to the site.

  5. I have registered for vtext.com or PIX Place, do I need to register at V CAST?
    No. Your 10-digit mobile number and vtext.com or Pix Place password can be used to login to the site.

  6. How do I retrieve my password?
    1. Click the Log In - Forgot Password link on the left navigation menu from the V CAST homepage.
    2. Enter your 10-digit mobile number (using ONLY numbers and NO dashes or spaces).
    3. Click Send.
    4. Your password will be sent to your phone as a text message.

    5. Browse and select details from the alert of choice
