General Information
  1. What is My Verizon handset?

    My Verizon Handset makes self-serve easier and more convenient than ever before. It allows post-pay customers (primary account holder and customers that have been authorized to access these functions) to access self-serve functionality directly from your WAP-2.0-based handset. My Verizon Handset provides the following functions:

      • Check Balance.
      • Check Usage: Minutes, Messages and KBU (Data).
      • Make Payments, Manage Payment Accounts, and Review Last 5 Payments.
      • View current Plan and Features.
      • Change Voicemail Password.

    If you are a customer, you do not have to subscribe to the Mobile Web service to access My Verizon Handset. In addition, you can use this self-serve functionality free of charge. You will not incur any airtime charges to use these services when you are in a Verizon Wireless enhanced service area.

    NOTE: Corporate customers, resellers and prepay customers do not have access to most My Verizon Handset functions.

  2. If I am on a Family Share plan, will the usage and balance information that's displayed be for the MDN or the account?
    The Balance screen will display the account level balance. The usage screens (Minutes, TXT Messages, and Kilobytes) will display usage at the MDN level for lines on the account.

  3. Is there a charge for airtime for accessing the usage and balance information from the handset?
    No, My Verizon Handset in a Verizon Wireless service area does not have a charge, even if you don't subscribe to Mobile Web 2.0. My Verizon Handset is another free self-serve option that we provide so you can get the information you want when you need it.

  4. Do I have to be a Mobile Web 2.0 subscriber to access My Verizon Handset?
    No, but you must have a WAP 2.0 capable handset. If you do not have a subscription to Mobile Web, you will receive the Self Serve Provisioning Page, which has the My Verizon option. You will not be charged for visiting My Verizon Handset.

  5. How do I know if my handset is compatible?
    Handsets must be WAP 2.0 capable to access My Verizon Handset. If your handset has a color screen and is internet-ready, you can get there from the mobile web browser, free of charge. Verify that your handset is WAP 2.0 capable by looking up your phone under the Products menu, then looking for the Mobile Web 2.0 feature.

  6. What is the number following the date on usage screens? (Example: 12:15:20)
    This is the time reported from the billing system. The format is HH:MM:SS. Hours are in military time (Example: 1:00 PM is reported as 13:00).

    NOTE: the billing system may be in a different time zone.

  7. Why doesn't the date and time that's displayed match the current date and time?
    It is highly likely that they will not match the current time. The date and time presented are from the billing system. They represent the last time the billing system was updated with the information requested; additionally, the billing system may be in a different time zone.

  8. What happens if someone has not passed his first billing cycle?
    Customers who have not passed their first billing cycle will not receive any Balance or Usage information. They will receive the following message: Your VZW Usage and Balance are not available for viewing yet. Data will be available after your first billing cycle.

Prepay My Verizon Headset
  1. What is My Verizon Handset for Prepay?

    My Verizon Handset is an interface that allows you to manage your account right from your phone at your convenience!

    You can:

      • Check your balance and expiration.
      • Make a one time payment using your debit/credit card or sign-up for Auto Pay.
      • Load a refill card/PIN to add airtime to your account.
      • Find nearest replenishment locations.
      • Reset or change your Account Security Code and voice mail password.
      • View your plan information and usage details.

    Verizon Wireless is committed to safeguarding customer privacy and uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology with encryption for the transmission of sensitive data. When the security lock is displayed, you can be confident that your individual information is protected.

  6. How do I refill through my handset?

    For credit/debit card payments:

      • Select Make a Pmt from the My Account Main Menu.
      • Or, to load a refill card/PIN, select Add Refill Card from the Main Menu.

  7. What refill options are available via my handset?
    You may make a one time credit card payment or sign-up for recurring automatic payments as well as load a refill card/PIN to your account from your phone. You may also save credit card information for future use, update or remove your card information.

    You may check your current account balance and expiration or “good thru” date by selecting the Balance option from the My Verizon Main Menu.

    The Pmt Locator option allows you to find the nearest replenishment locations by entering your zip code or searching by state/city.

  10. What are the balance details for my plan?
    You may access your rate plan information by selecting My Plan from the main menu or view your call details with descriptions, including balance under the Usage option available from the My Account Main Menu on your phone.
