  2. How do I view web pages with my 7130e?

    To view web pages on the 7130e, access the Internet Browser Application, select “Go to” and enter the web address.

  3. Why is there a flashing light on my device?

    The notification LED on the top of your 7130e flashes different colors depending on particular conditions.

    · A green light indicates that you are in a wireless coverage area.
    · A red light indicates that a new message has arrived and your current profile is set to notify you using the LED.
    · An amber light indicates that the battery is low.
    · A blue light indicates that your device is connected to a Bluetooth®-enabled device.

  4. Why does my device screen turn off?

    When your 7130e is not used for a period of time, the screen turns off to conserve battery power. Just roll the trackwheel or press a key to turn the screen on again.

  5. What software version do I have on my device?
    To view device software version in the device options, click About.

  6. Why does the letter D appear beside sent PIN messages?
    The letter D indicates that the sent PIN message has been delivered to the recipient’s BlackBerry device.

  7. What is a PIN message?

    Every BlackBerry device has a unique PIN (Personal Identification Number).  PIN-to-PIN refers to a form of direct messaging between BlackBerry devices over the wireless network.

  8. Why is “More available” appearing at the end of my message?

    Long messages are sent to your 7130e in sections. As you read the first section, the next section should be sent to your device automatically, if you are in a Verizon Wireless coverage area.

  9. Can I synchronize PIM items over the wireless network?
    When using BlackBerry Enterprise Software, PIM items such as contacts, tasks, memos and calendar events can be synchronized over the wireless network.

SureType
  1. What is SureType?
    SureType Input Technology is a new feature in the BlackBerry 7130e.  Technology is an innovative keyboard technology, which integrates a traditional phone keypad and a familiar keyboard layout with intuitive software. It “learns” as you type, recognizing word patterns and enabling you to type information easily.

  2. How do I use SureType?

    The best way to begin using SureType is to just start typing. Try not to look at the keys as you type.

    1.  Press keys on the keypad one time for each Letter.
    2. When you finish typing a word, press the SPACE key to accept the highlighted word.
    3. If SureType gives you two or more word combinations, roll the trackwheel (or press the Next key) to select another word, then press SPACE key

  3. How smart is SureType?
    When you type a new word SureType doesn’t know, it is automatically added to a custom word list. SureType uses a 35,000-word dictionary and your contacts!

Tethered Connection
  1. Can I use the 7130e as a Modem?
    Yes.  The BlackBerry 7130e is Tethered Broadband Access capable.

  2. What do I need to use my BlackBerry device has a Modem?

    To use your BlackBerry as a modem, you must first contact Verizon Wireless and have your device provisioned for Tethered Access modem service.  Once provisioned correctly, you must install the following software:

    BlackBerry Desktop Software v4.1 found here: http://vzw.smithmicro.com/blackberry/

    VZAccess Manager for BlackBerry found here: http://vzw.smithmicro.com/download/

    Once you have installed both software items, connect the 7130e BlackBerry device to your PC or Laptop computer via the USB cable included with the device, open VZAccess Manager and select “Connect WWAN”.

  1. How do I know when my Bluetooth radio is on?
    The Bluetooth icons appear on the Home screen if your Bluetooth radio is on or if you are connected with another Bluetooth-enabled device.

  1. Can I view attachments on my 7130e?
    Yes, your 7130e is capable of viewing attachments. When you receive a message with an attachment, click the trackwheel.

  2. What type of file attachments can I view?
    The 7130e is capable of viewing the following file attachments - .zip, .htm, .html, .doc, .dot, .ppt, .pdf, .wpd, .txt, .vcf, and .xls files.

  3. How do I view attachments?
    1. In a message, click the trackwheel.
    2. Click Open Attachment.
    3. Click the attachment.
    4. Click Expand.
    5. Perform one of the following actions:
    • To open a table of contents for the file attachment, click Table of Contents.
    • To open the file attachment, click Full Content.
    6. Click Retrieve.

  4. How do I view password-protected file attachments?
    You can only view password-protected .pdf files. If you receive a .pdf file that is password-protected, you must type the password to view the file. On the attachment screen, click the file name. Click Password. Type the password. Click the trackwheel.
