Feedback
The new 385 area code is being added to the region served by 801. Since two area codes will soon serve the same region, customers with an 801 (or 385) area code must now dial the area code for all calls – including calls within the same area code.
This means, if you have an 801 phone number and call another 801 phone number, you will have to dial the area code. You will no longer be able to dial just the seven-digit phone number.
Feedback
Beginning June 1, 2008, all customers with an 801 area code should begin dialing the area code for ALL calls. There will be a grace period, so if you forget and dial just seven digits, your call will still be completed.
Beginning March 1, 2009, if you do not use an area code, your call will be not completed and a recording will instruct you to hang up and dial again.

- Your telephone number, including current area code, will not change.
- The price of a call, coverage area, or other rates and services will not change due to the overlay.
- What is a local call now will remain a local call regardless of the number of digits dialed.
- You can still dial just three digits to reach 411, 611, 911, and other 3-digit numbers that may be available in your community.
