A Verizon Wireless V CAST Music capable phone is needed. Check with your sales representative or Verizon Wireless for the latest V CAST Music capable phones. You must be within the V CAST Coverage Area to manage alerts, browse, preview, purchase and download music to your phone. These activities will not use airtime.

- Call Rhapsody at (866) 597-5465 to discontinue your subscription.
- Log into Verizon Wireless' V CAST Music website to download the V CAST Music with Rhapsody software. Only required if you want the co-branded client. The Rhapsody only client should allow you to sign in using your VZW MDN and SSO password.
- Create a login/ password combination.
Note: Only necessary if they don't already have a SSO password. Otherwise they would log in with their MDN and SSO password. - You will be prompted to scan for all existing music filles on your hard drive.
- You will want to re-authorize all portable devices. This would only be necessary if you changed your MDN as part of the process.
NOTE: You will retain all of the downloaded and purchased music , with the exception of subscription music. Subscription music would need to be re-added to the library.

- You can add an “Music Block” to the particular line that you want to restrict. This will prevent access to the V CAST Music catalog from the handset and the PC. Account holders with multiple lines associated with their accounts (e.g. on a FamilyShare plan) may choose to block all lines or only specified lines on their accounts. Once added, the block may be removed only at the request of the account holder.
- You can activate content filtering to limit the type of content that you want to have available. This feature will allow the preview and/ or purchase of content, while filtering out “EXPLICIT” labeled content. Any “Explicit” content displayed will be viewable only in a “grayed” out presentation, if the filter is activated. To activate content filtering please call customer care at (800) 922-0204, or *611 from your mobile phone.

Note: You can preview a song by selecting the song and then selecting Preview.
- Then select the specific song and select BUY.
Note: You are charged when you select Buy. You can purchase the same music multiple times. Currently, there is NO message provided to advise you if you have already purchased a song. - At the "Confirm Purchase" screen, review the items and price and then select BUY.
- You'll receive a confirmation of your purchase and that the music is ready for download.
- A message indicating that you can "download now" will also appear.
- Select OK to save the music to your phone. (Note: If you select Later, the purchased content will be available at a later time by selecting Download from the V CAST Music main menu.)
- Select the Storage Location, either the Phone Memory or Memory Card (if one is present.)
- The V CAST Music store will also send a second copy of the music file to your V CAST Music with Rhapsody online store account for you to download to your computer.

- To play a podcast: first, download the file to your computer.
- Then follow one of these options to transfer the file to your phone.
- Using V CAST Music with Rhapsody to transfer a podcast: From the Rhapsody software, simply select File > Add Media to My Library. Connect your V CAST Music phone to your PC with a compatible USB cable (sold separately.) Once the phone is listed in the Sources section of the Verizon|Rhapsody PC client, locate the podcast file in My Library and drag and drop the file to the phone.
- Using Windows Explorer to copy a podcast to the memory card: Using a card reader, copy the file to the My_Music folder of the formatted memory card.
NOTES:- Memory card can be formatted by inserting it into the phone. A card can be reformatted by selecting Settings & Tools > Memory > Card Memory > Options > Format Card. Remember Formatting the card will erase all existing files on the card.
- Some older devices such as the LG VX8100, the Samsung SCH-a950 and the Verizon Wireless CDM-8945 do not support MP3 format files and must have the file synchronized using option A above.
- Once loaded to your phone, select Music & Tones, then My Music and search for the podcast using Genres, Songs, Artists, Albums. Once you find the podcast, select Play.

- Select Get Music & Tones.
- Select My Music.
- ChoosePlaylists.
- Press Options.
- Scroll down and select Create playlist.
- Give it a name and press OK.
- You can now add songs by browsing through your library of music.
- When a song is selected, press Options, select Add to playlist, select the playlist and press Add.

- Go to the V CAST Music home page by selecting Get It Now.
- Select Music & Tones.
- Select Get V CAST Music.

- Scroll to the bottom of the Help screen to the section titled About V CAST Music. The version number is listed there. Versions marked 01.02.000 or higher support the direct playback of unprotected MP3 files. You may also select Music & Tones and Sync Music to display version of software.

- Select sign in in to the V Cast Music with Rhapsody online store, then select Don’t have a password?
- Enter your 10-digit mobile phone number. Use ONLY numbers. Do not enter dashes, symbols, or spaces.
- Click Send. Your temporary password will immediately be sent to your mobile phone as a TXT message.
- After you have received your temporary password, enter it into the Temporary Password box. NOTE: Passwords are case-sensitive.
- Create a new password:
- Enter your desired new password into the New Password box. (Or you have the option to select “Save my Login & Password”. By doing so, each time you log in to the online store, you can simply hit “login” and your login and password are automatically recalled) You will need this password each time you log back into the site.
- Re-enter your new password in the Re-enter Password box to confirm spelling.
- Click Save.
- You'll be taken to Confirmation page. Click OK.
- You'll be at the V CAST Music with Rhapsody home page. Just log in and enjoy.

Note: compatible USB cables are available from Verizon Wireless.
- Open the V Cast Music with Rhapsody software on your PC.
- Use the USB cable to connect your phone to your PC. Please have your phone turned on.
- Your phone should automatically be placed in the Sync Music state and show as Connected. On the PC, you should see the phone listed in the sources portion of the V Cast Music with Rhapsody software.
- On the PC, drag and drop songs that you wish to transfer to the phone listing in the Sources area.
- When the sync process completes, on your phone, exit the Sync Music application and disconnect the cable from your phone.
- Under the Music & Tones menu, open My Music to view and play your music.
